PHILOSOPHY & PROCESS
One workshop.
One creative vision.
Alter Ego Appearance brings software, electronics and traditional making together under one craftsman. Each instrument is approached as a complete design.
Begin with the whole machine
Disassembly allows the transport, panels and circuitry to be assessed together. Custom parts are designed digitally, then machined and refined for the instrument they will serve.
Work across disciplines
Casting, wood preparation, circuit work and controller programming progress alongside one another. A finish or component may be revised repeatedly before the design comes together.
The final surface matters
Coating, integrated lettering and hand polishing establish how the instrument looks and feels. The visible treatment follows the same attention given to its internal renewal.
Time, support and individuality
The studio describes creation periods of six to eighteen months and production limited by the demands of one workshop. Ask for current scheduling and written warranty terms for any specific instrument.
